A Day in my Life and An Update on my Health!
Life in the Everyday:
Some people think my days are slow, quiet, and uneventful because of my wheelchair. Truth is, life rarely slows down, especially when you’re in a wheelchair and you're still learning about your body. My days start early, usually with a cup of coffee and time in the Word. My morning quiet time with the Lord is my time to pray, give him thanks, and keep me in perspective before the day starts moving.
From there, it’s the small routines that fill my time — bed exercises, writing in my blog, and answering messages from people who reach out to encourage me. Every day has its rhythm, but one thing is constant: God always brings something unexpected to remind me He’s still writing my story.
Navigating Health & Healing:
Health-wise, I’m still living with the challenges that come with being a quadriplegic. I've been struggling with a wound on my bottom that has been giving me trouble for well over a year now, but through the frustration, I’m making sure I stay on top of stretching and managing energy. Other days, my body reminds me that disability isn’t just a physical challenge; it can be mentally and emotionally draining, too. The mental and emotional challenges are still there but staying faithful everyday is a helpful tool for dealing with those challenges.
Recently, I’ve been focusing more on keeping the wound from getting worse, staying away from the hospital, keeping my hydration high, and maintaining good nutrition. It might sound simple, but for someone in my situation, those little things can make a huge difference. My nursing team has been keeping me accountable for my health, and while my condition has been an up-and-down issue, my goal is to thrive in the position that God has given me.
Faith in the Process:
Through it all, I go to a scripture verse that has been my life’s verse: Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” That verse is my reminder that God’s strength is constant.
If you’re reading this and walking through your health battle, I want you to know this: God is faithful in the waiting. He’s going to put situations in your life that will glorify him, and whether it’s a position that you asked for or not, we can rejoice in those who keep our eyes on him.
Closing Thoughts:
I’m thankful for each of you who check in, pray for me, and read these updates. This journey isn’t just mine — it’s something God has allowed me to share so others can see His goodness in real life. I’ve seen an abundance of blessings lately, and I know that it’s not going to stop. It shows me that God is still with me and laying out the plans that he’s already made for me!
