"Why does God work in ways that is not our own?"
The phrase "God works in mysterious ways" often misrepresents God's true power and influence over the outcomes of our lives. A more accurate expression would be, "God works in HIS way." While His plans may seem mysterious to us as humans, we will only understand the outcome when He reveals it to us. I prefer to say "HIS way" because it is the only true and ultimate path. As stated in Isaiah 55:8: "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." The prophet Isaiah emphasizes that God's thoughts and ways are vast and beyond human understanding. For those who follow me on social media, I have been dealing with some health issues and have spent over a week in the hospital. I also face personal challenges, but everything that has been happening brings me back to the question, "Why does God allow this to happen, even when we don’t want it?" God's actions often lead to outcomes that ultimately benefit Him. Romans 5:3 states: "And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance." The Apostle Paul, writing to the Roman Church, explains the benefits of being justified by faith in Christ. He highlights the ability to "glory in our sufferings," despite the tribulations bound to our experiences, as a way to demonstrate character and hope. If you were to ask Paul if he wanted to write letters while he was in prison or why after years of being paralyzed and praying for full healing why God hasn’t healed me from my paralysis? It’s very simple…even though myself and the Apostle Paul are very different from our "calling" we are meant as disciples of Christ Jesus to fulfill the same obligation that needs to be placed in our lives and that’s spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
