If You’re a Born Again Christ Follower, Then You Have a Testimony!

That’s right—if you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then your life has already been marked by a powerful testimony. And here’s the good news: you don’t just have one testimony. You can have many. Why? Because every event in your life is part of God’s divine plan, carefully orchestrated to bring Him glory and to grow you closer to Him.

A testimony is a personal account of how your life has been impacted by your relationship with God and Jesus Christ. It could be the moment you were baptized. It could be a tough season that drew you closer to Jesus. Or it could be a moment of transformation that revealed more of God’s grace and power in your life. Personally, I have several testimonies that have strengthened my faith and deepened my walk with Christ.

So How Do We Share Our Testimonies and God’s Story?

Sharing your testimony is more than telling a personal story—it’s declaring what God has done, is doing, and will do in your life. Here’s how we can do that effectively:

1. Know Your Testimony

Before we can share our story, we must first understand it. What has God done in your life? What did He bring you out of? How has your relationship with Him changed you? Without clarity, our words may sound empty, but with reflection, our testimony becomes a vessel of truth and transformation.

2. Surround Yourself with the Right People

We need to be intentional about being around both fellow believers and people who are far from God. Why? Because both groups need your story. Fellow believers are encouraged when they see God at work in someone else’s life. And those who don’t yet know Jesus may find hope, light, and truth in your testimony.

3. Pray for Wisdom

Some people are skeptical about hearing anything related to Jesus or Christianity. That’s why prayer is essential. Ask the Lord for discernment and compassion. Pray that He gives you the words to say and a heart that loves people where they are.

4. Remember Who Your Testimony Belongs To

This is key: your testimony isn’t really yours. It’s God’s. He’s the author. He’s the finisher. And ultimately, your testimony exists not just for your benefit or someone else’s encouragement—but to glorify God. It’s a reflection of His faithfulness, His mercy, and His love.

So the next time you hesitate to share your story, remember this: God gave it to you for a reason. And someone, somewhere, needs to hear it.

Let your testimony be a light in a dark world, and a bold declaration that Jesus saves.
