Hello World!

Hey guys! This is my first post on this blog site. Just wanted to introduce myself for those who are looking into this for the first time my name is Logan Cannon and I was born in Pensacola, Florida on October 3rd, 1995. I’m the son of Brett and Kim and brother to Sydney and Shay. Growing up in Pensacola we are passionate about our lord and savior Jesus Christ, college and high school sports, and going to Pensacola Beach off the Gulf of Mexico where we have the whitest beaches in the world. My family and I moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia back in 2006 while I was in elementary school because my dad was offered a position as an X-Ray tech manager. This was a very tough but exciting decision for our family but through the grace of God we made relationships with many people we still have today. But in 2012 dad was hit with some news that Syd was in a bad car accident and was sent to the hospital to get surgery. Upon getting her x-rays he passed away at the age of 43 years old from a blood clot in his heart that triggered a heart attack. This was a major shock and loss for not only our family but also the friends that we had with. So the next step was for mom, Shay, and I to move back home to Florida where we went to Pace High School. Fast forward a couple of years I played football and was apart of the schools NJROTC program my junior year and then in my senior year a couple months before graduation our unit went to a local river spot to hang out and relax but a friend and I were throwing the football around and made a bet to see whoever dropped the ball had to dive into the water. So I dove into the river and I shattered the C4 vertebrae of my spinal cord. It was obviously a scary situation and when the accident happened the ambulance came and got me to the hospital in 20 minutes and they had to take the shattered fragments of my spine and reattach as much as they could. That was 10 years ago on April 19, 2014 and in those years God has blessed me with the strength and ability to use my disability to grow my faith, introduce me to others, and take me places where I never would’ve thought about going. Now I’ve received my Associates degree from Pensacola State College, my Bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida, and now I’m pursuing my Masters degree in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. It’s been a long journey but I’m grateful for the opportunities that God’s going to bring in my life.
